T-bone steak in Muscat

(See the previous post – to be updated)

It’s still noon but we are getting tired already in the hotel in Muscat when we just checked in. But we don’t have enough time to explore Oman, so we have to move.

As we discussed on the way to the hotel, we decide to eat lunch in Muscat to move down to Bimmah Sinkhole first. We are not sure to visit Wadi Shab and come back to Muscat because it takes around 2 hours to the Sinkhole only and now it’s around 1pm already. On the way Sol kept forcing me to go to the Steak Company where he had sticked to after he searched the good restaurant in Muscat. I also agreed with Sol and we are heading to the Steak Company from the hotel, it takes only 10 min.

I am surprised to see ‘Piri Piri’ here! Because I heard that from another korean volunteer in the Tanzania workcamp last year, who always advertised the traditional vegetable to the other volunteers and the local people asked her “how did you know it is a traditional vegetable here?”. So why is the Piri Piri here? Maybe I think they got the idea when Oman colonized Zanzibar(a part of Tanzania now) last time.

Anyway, I am curious the tase of Piri Piri here so I suggest to order ‘piri piri chicken’. Sol suggest to order T-bone steak with medium, which is also rare to find typical steak restaurant I think.

Mojito is always not disappointing me.

Finally T-bone steak! the owner may know my taste very well, so he prepare medium rare, which I prefer, even though we ordered medium! T-bone steak is more soft, especially near the T-bone, than the other part of beef steak.

However, the piri piri chicken is not special. Piri piri was so spicy when I experienced in Tanzania, but here is just chicken with piri-piri sauce, which is not as spicy as the one in Tanzania. But the chicken itself is not bad.

Anyway, we really enjoy the meat and recharge the energy to drive to the sinkhole. Let’s hurry to go to the sinkhole!
