PE (미국 기술사) – 학력 인증
나름의 우여곡절(?) 끝에 학력 인증 서류 전송 완료!
학부 때 나름 ABEEK 교육과정에 맞추어 성실히 이수하였다고 생각했지만 NCEES에서는 알짤없이 학력인증 서류를 달라고 한다. 가장 중요한 것은 지금까지 내가 들은 모든 수업의 영문 과목 개요였는데, 그정도 정리해둔거야 당연히 있을걸로 생각했지만 막상 돌아온 대답은 ‘그런거 없으니 필요하면 영문 강의계획서 보고 알아서 만들라’ ㅡㅡ 우리 학교 강의계획서를 뒤져보면 알겠지만 영어로 되어있지 않은 것도 많은데다가 영어로 되어있어도 양식이 모두 달라서 그대로 가져올 수가 없다.
다행히 과사 누나가 가지고 있는 한글 과목 개요를 받아보고 부리나케 영어로 다 번역했다.(오히려 내가 하니까 NCEES의 학력 인증 조건에 잘 부합하도록 번역할 수 있던 점은 좋았음.) 번역공증을 안 받아도 과사의 승인을 받을 수 있었던 덕분에 학사과에서도 무난히 통과. 영문 서류 요청은 많았던거 같지만 담당자 말로 PE는 처음이라고.

Finally sending credential evaluation documents to NCEES!
Requiring the documents to verify my education, though I thought I already completed enough courses based on ABEEK, kind of Korean certified engineering curriculum. The most significant one is English course description. I thought it is already prepared and archived in our university system, but there is nothing like that and even I need to make my own description based on syllabus in English, which is usually found not available and not proper so I cannot use that descriptions.
Luckily, a friendly staff in my major department office provided Korean course descriptions then I suddenly translated them into English. (It’s rather good thing I can easily manipulate the description by myself to fit into their criteria. My major department office approved my tranalated documents without verifications then educational affair department could directly approved my documents. It is surprised that requests for PE documents are the first time to her, though there have been lots of requests for official submittals of english documents.
