I booked a room with a pool-view balcony and bathtub. But actually I received a room with a garden-view balcony and without bathtub. When I called to reception to claim that they suddenly provided me with the room!(1 bed room + 1 living room + 2 shower rooms + 1 private pool)
I think the original price of the room is around 1400 AED, so I already saved around 1000 AED(around 272USD) The room size is almost 40% of the one for the president to stay during political trips in cities. (But the hotels in cities usually don’t have privite swimming pool)
I have been very satisfied with the room and the hotel facility. When I waked up around 6:30am, I started to bathtub, reading books and went to breakfast, swimming and snorkeling in the private pool without other’s view, connecting my notebook to big TV as duel monitor, using free vehicle to move inside the hotel boundary, doing high-tea on the afternoon, and so on… is it what it called ‘hocance’?
It worths to stay again enough if they prioritize their customers’ concern than the room availability.
어쩌다보니 또 첸나이에 오게 되었다. 첸나이는 이번이 3번째다. 보통 여행을 하며 ‘세상은 넓고 여행할 곳은 많다.’ 라는 생각으로, 1번 이상 같은 곳을 여행하지 않는 것이 내 원칙이었으나, 딱히 거주하지도 않는데 3번까지 여행한 곳은 첸나이가 유일한 듯 하다. 첸나이와 나는 인연이 깊은가보다.
오랜만에 오니 택시 삐끼가 2000루피에 해주겠다고 반겨주는건 여전하지만, 우버가 있는 덕에 흥정할 필요는 전혀 없어진거 같아 뭔가 묘한 기분이 든다.
수영장이 보이는 발코니와 욕조가 있는 방을 예약했었다. 하지만 실제로 받고 보니 발코니에서 수영장이 보이지 않았고 욕조는 없는 상태. 리셉션으로 전화하니 어떻게든 방을 하나 구해서 준비되면 알려줄테니 기다리라고 하였고, 이 방을 받았다!(침실1+거실1+샤워룸2+개인수영장1)
이 방 원래 가격이 1400 AED 정도인거 같은데, 1000 AED(약 30만원)이나 절약한 것이 된다. 방 규모가 대통령님께서 의전 행사 올 때의 40% 정도 크기인거 같다.(근데 대부분 도시의 호텔들은 개인 수영장이 딸려있지도 않다.)
오늘 하루 정말 잘 보냈다. 새벽 6시 30분 정도에 일어나서 욕조에서 목욕 실컷 하면서 책도 보고, 조식 맛보고, 개인 수영장에서 눈치 안 보고 수영이랑 스노클링 한참 하다가, 노트북이랑 호텔 방 TV와 연결하여 듀얼 모니터로 쓰기도 하고, 리조트 내 제공되는 차량 타고 여기저기 이동하다가 오후 간식 먹으러 가기도 하는 등… 이것이 말로만 듣던 ‘호캉스’인가?
호텔에서 손님을 위해 이정도까지 해주는 정도라면, 다시 머물만한 가치는 충분히 있는 것 같다.
